Sorry for that late reply !

slapd is running stable with only one filter value now for more than one week !

Your information, that slapd needs more memory, when the nr.of threads reaches a
new max. point seems also ok ! After the first day of stable running there was 
no new increase in mem any more.

I will test your new code in about 2 weeks, when my collegue is back from
vacation .
