LDAP over T/TCP, an alternative to CLDAP?

I was thinking that one way to reduce the cost associated
with LDAP over TCP would be to use LDAP over T/TCP where
each LDAP operation was a T/TCP "transaction".  This might
be an interesting alternative to CLDAP.
