RE: draft-natarajan-ldapext-cachedresults-00.txt
Hi all,
It seems there is some infringement of intellectual property
rights in the draft that I had written on cached results. Something on the
lines of "You can't use some intellectual property which you gained in the
company to write a draft on when you have left the company".
Most probably it will come out of Novell India in some other form
when a discussion would be appropriate. Until then can we stop any
discussion on this draft ? Inviting your cooperation on this.
I'm really really sorry for any trouble caused to you owing to this! It
never occurred to me that this would become an issue when I set about
writing the draft and submitted this.
Thanks and Regards,
Natarajan

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts
directories.
Title : The LDAP Caching model

Filename : draft-natarajan-ldapext-cachedresults-00.txt

Seeking entries from a directory is a process involving network
resources. It is assumed that a directory is accessed for reading and
searching data more than for modification purposes. Under such
assumptions, for performance reasons, a mechanism for caching as a
proxy which caches all entries is desirable. This document describes
a mechanism for caching directory entries.
This document also defines one operational attribute and two controls
required to be implemented for the caching model.
A URL for this Internet-Draft is:

Internet-Drafts are also available by anonymous FTP. Login with the username
"anonymous" and a password of your e-mail address. After logging in,
type "cd internet-drafts" and then
"get draft-natarajan-ldapext-cachedresults-00.txt".
A list of Internet-Drafts directories can be found in
http://www.ietf.org/shadow.html
or ftp://ftp.ietf.org/ietf/1shadow-sites.txt
Internet-Drafts can also be obtained by e-mail.
Send a message to:
mailserv@ietf.org.
In the body type:
"FILE
/internet-drafts/draft-natarajan-ldapext-cachedresults-00.txt".
NOTE: The mail server at ietf.org can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e. documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
how to manipulate these messages.
Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version of the
Internet-Draft.
