NUSTAR RESOURCES INC

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NUSTAR (Symbol: NTR - Canadian Venture Exchange) 

The Company announces that it has commenced a core drilling program on
its  Copper Mountain Syndicate project on Miner Mountain at Princeton,
B.C. in the Similkameen Mining Division, British Columbia, Canada.

The  drilling   program   will  further  test  the  area  between  the 
established   mineral   inventories  and  will  expand  the  Company's 
information on the zone mid-way between  these  areas.   In  1997  the 
Company began testing the zone intermediate to the mineral inventories 
of 250,000 tons of 0.5% copper in  the  Regal  zone  cn  west  and  an 
additional 600,000 tons of 0.25% copper in the Bethlehem zone  on  the 
east. The 1997 drill program concentrated on the west side of the area
between the Regal and Bethlehem zones and indicated  a  thick  section 
(200 feet+) of mineralized Nicola volcanics (typical of the Ingerbelle
section mined by Similco) with grades of up to  0.9% copper, 0.05%oz/t 
gold and 0.01oz/t platinum group elements (PGE).  The PGE is indicated 
to be approximately 15:1 palladium to platinum, respectively.

The  current   drilling  program  will  test  the  east  side  of  the 
intermediate zone in an area of generally low magnetic response  which 
appears to outline an area of intense alteration.

The Company is also preparing  to  drill  its  gold/silver/copper/zinc 
property in Zacatecas State, Mexico.
