LDAP Profile Definitions
Hi -
At the Open Group Directory Program Group meeting on July 21, the following
plan was agreed for the definition of LDAP profiles to support an Open
Brand. (See http://www.opengroup.org/directory/dirday3/index.htm for a
report of the meeting.)
The Draft Open Group server profiles and the Post Office certificate
application description should be posted on the web for comment by July 30.
Comments and suggestions for profile definitions should be submitted by the
end of August. An agreed list of features should then be drawn up and a set
of interoperability tests to exercise these features should be prepared
ready for use at DirConnect5, which will probably be co-located with the
Open Group conference during the week of October 25-29. Final versions of
the profiles will then be produced within the schedule of the launch plan.

in PDF format. Your comments and suggestions will help us to define a
certification scheme that will provide the interoperability guarantees that
buyers need, and help the market for LDAP products reach its full
potential. Please send them to directory@opengroup.org by August 31.
