Having read that, I'm now totally clueless as to why
it matters in the context of this thread.

Is the concern about entries moving between
different vendors' servers ?
And if so, then somehow those servers would
know to differentiate a structural from an
aux objectclass and what the difference was
in the context of an entry moving from one
server to another ?
