RE: proposed charter revision



(1) I notice that charter speaks only of v3 of LDAP.  Do you really mean
that earlier versions are to get no consideration?  (e.g., atomicity of v2
client operations will not necessarily be preserved?)

(2) There's a statement about "liason" and "coordination" with ITU work,
but no statement on the intended relationship of the two bodies's specs.
Are they intended to be identical?  Or be nearly identical, in that they
have a usefully large overlap?  Or perhaps different but equivalent, or
nearly so?  Are they intended to be interchangeable, in that wherever a
replication agreement exists, either protocol could  be used to exchange
updates?  Or interoperable, in the sense that among the replication
agreements that stitch together a set of replicas for one naming context,
some could use IETF protocols and others use ITU protocols?
