Re: present IANA "directory system names" list (aka "short attribute names")




Michael,

During the ELSE (Evolving LDAP Schema Entries) BOF in San Diego, the issues of potential collision in attribute type and object class names was discussed.

Mortezza and Bob Joslin agreed to look into this a bit more and try to come up with some methodology for ensuring unique names (in addition to unique OIDs).

What is the plan for this repository?

Is there a need for this kind of thing in order to
prevent some kind of interoperability problem due
to collisions?

Or does the burden exceed the benefit?
