In RFC 2849, the entry's DN is follows "dn:". distinguishedName (RFC2256) is an attribute type, commonly used as a supertype for other attributes such as 'member'. Only if you have values of the distinguishedName will you see it in the returned set of attributes. >However, search on gn returns givenName.
