As a side effect, this causes the lockscreen within Xubuntu 14.04 to be bypassable by a VT switch. I'm unsure as to what information you need to help diagnose this issue, but I can provide any info as required. As such, there is no code we own here that we can investigate for you. I note that PADL, the original authors of pam_ldap, stopped supporting it many many years ago.
