Hi, I have finish install the ldap on my server. But when i try to execute a ldap command, it show an error message 'can't contact to Lapd server" . How can i configure both slapd.conf and ldap.conf. I did go through the example that publish on your site. Can you help me to check my slapd.conf configuration : ----------------------------------------------------------- include /usr/local/etc/openldap/slapd.at.conf include /usr/local/etc/openldap/slapd.oc.conf referral ldap://ldap.itd.umich.edu database ldbm suffix "dc=car, dc=ptk, dc=com" rootdn "cn=Manager, dc=car,dc=ptk, dc=com" rootpw password directory /usr/local/etc/openldap --------------------------------------------------------------- I also created a myldif.ldif file with the content below: ------------------------ dn: dc=skali, dc=com dc: skali o= My Company objectclass: organization objectclass: dcObject rootpw: secret dn: cn=Manager, dc=skali, dc=com cn: Manager sn: Manager objectclass: person rootpw: secret --------------------------------------------- Next, i execute ldapadd -D "cn=Manager, dc=car, dc=ptk, dc=com" -W < myldif.ldif Then it will show the error message that i mention before. why? Do i need to setup any database? Is myldif.ldif is my Database file? Regards, Louis Lee
