(Answer) (Category) OpenLDAP Faq-O-Matic : (Category) Trash : (Category) Using OpenLDAP with SSL/TLS : (Answer) stunnel - an SSL wrapper
stunnel (http://www.stunnel.org/) is a SSL encryption wrapper between remote client and local (inetd-startable) or remote server. It works like this:
        (Client)=======SSL-connection=====(stunnel/Server)
                                               |
                                           clear text connection
                                               |
                                               +--(local/remote LDAPserver)
