(Answer) (Category) OpenLDAP Faq-O-Matic : (Category) Trash : (Answer) Validating users
I've heard that LDAP enables the system administrator to consolidate his systems user databases from various operating systems (ie. Win2k and Linux), saving the user from remembering various passwords and reducing duplicated data. Is this true? Could I implement an OpenLDAP directory and make Win2k, NT, 98, Linux and web users be authenticated against my directory?
