OpenLDAP Faq-O-Matic : Trash : How about using Umlauts with OpenLDAP???
	I'm using OpenLDAP for about 580000 Entries, with and without umlauts. Requesting information from the Netscape Addressbook gives any special char instead of the umlaut and with Ldapsearch I only get "NOT ASCII" At the moment I mask all umlauts and after export I unmask them. In my data there are for example oe or ö. But every oe has to stay oe and the ö has to be an ö afterwards. So there is a mixture of umlauts and plain text. Greetings, Barney barney@telecom.at
