(Answer) (Category) OpenLDAP Faq-O-Matic : (Category) OpenLDAP 1.2 Quick Start Guide : (Answer) Start SLAPD
Start slapd by entering the following commands:
  su root -c '/usr/local/libexec/slapd -f myslapd.conf'
Note: slapd is installed in the "libexecdir" directory determined by configure. This is normally /usr/local/libexec/slapd.
