nssov overlay socket and chrooted software

i'm using the nssov overlay, which is hard coded (i believe?) to present
it's socket at /var/run/nslcd/socket. this presents a problem for
software (in this particular case, postfix) that is chrooted and can't
see the socket.
can i configure the overlay to create multiple sockets (sort of along
the same lines as rsyslog, for example)?
