Bad idea, but you /should/ be able to use a temporary OID if:
You don't have a collision with an existing OID.
You flush, recreate all records with the temporary OID as soon as you get a real one.
You reload the database after you have the new OID in place.


Your major problem will be getting rid of the temporary OID, because you can not be sure that it will never conflict with an assigned OID that may be used in the future.
