Hi everyone. I have a dummy doubt.

Is it necessary to stop the slapd daemon to execute the slapcat command?

No. Only if you are planning on migrating the database to a slave server or something. Even in that case, you can temporarily run the database as read-only and migrate it.

Guys, correct me if I am wrong.

It depends on the backend. For back-bdb/hdb, there is no problem. For back-ldbm, slapd must be stopped.
