Java & syncrepl/ldapsync

Hello all-
Is anyone aware of a Java implementation of a syncrepl (or appropiate
name for current OpenLDAP replication protocol) consumer? I am looking
to catch changes that are made to my OpenLDAP directory in real-time,
and acting as a syncrepl slave seems like it would fit the bill. But
before I reinvent the wheel, I was hoping someone has already done this.
Any info is much appreciated.
