So ls -ld /usr/local/openLdap2.2.28/log return me:
 
drwxrwxrwx    2 root     root         4096 oct 21 17:53
/usr/local/openLdap2.2.28/log
 
and i have changed  checkpoint      512     720 to  checkpoint      128

This normally means that slapd does not have write access to your
database 
directory or transaction log file location.

What does 'ls -ld /usr/local/openLdap2.2.28/log' say?

You only want to checkpoint every 12 hours? You're happy to lose data
that is 
12 hours old (depending on whether you have database recovery set to
run at 
startup or not)?
