Re: dbenv_open failed

I noticed that all my files in /var/lib/ldap are owned by slapd.slapd , but everytime i start slapd, only --db.001, --db.002, --db00n, files are chowned back to root, *.bdb files and db_config remains owned by slapd.
Dont know why only those files, when i start slapd are chowned?

syslog the err msg: bdb_db_open: dbenv_open(/var/lib/ldap) bdb_db_open:

(13) as root, runs without a problem. What am i missing?

Your permissions are obviously incorrect somewhere if it runs okay as root, but not as slapd/slapd. I suggest checking file & directory ownership of /var/lib/ldap.
