I see the issue; I couldn't track the exact reason, but there seems to 
be a problem with GE filters, which result in an incomplete candidate 
list out of bdb_key_read().  The small example I set up didn't show any 
problem with LE filters.  If no equality indices are set up, things work 
as expected.  I suggest you file an ITS, so that someone who is a bit 
more familiar with the internals of IDL list building in bdb can fix the 
problem.  Back-ldbm works as expected.
