Probably the uid value "babette+herman" (without the '\') does not exist
in the object.  There are other naming violations, but that one is most
common.

(The OpenLDAP server provides additional error text which says why you
got LDAP_NAMING_VIOLATION, but apparently your client doesn't display
that message.  You'd find the error message in slapd's server log if it
runs with loglevel 256 or better, though.)
