How long to wait for Private Enterprise Number?

Hi,

At 10 october I completed the "Application for Private Enterprise 
Number" form at iana.org in order to get a number to use for a custom 
schema. It's about 45 days ago now, and I'm starting to wonder if 
something went wrong.  One day later I did receive a confirmation e-mail 
(with my own address specified as the sender).

The site says: "The normal time for completing the application process 
is 30 days.". And another site 
(http://www.alvestrand.no/objectid/1.3.6.1.4.1.html) mentions "a matter 
of days".

My question is: How long should I wait (without irritating the IANA 
people) before trying to inform what the status of my request is?

Also, where can I ask something like this, on the iana website I can't 
find any address one could contact about this.
