OpenLDAP Perl Backend

Dear List,

a little bit of time I am fiddling around
with the perl backend. After a number of failures I succeeded in getting
it work on a SuSE Linux Box. 
Instead I am having a little bit trouble
on my Sun Solaris machine, but I think the problem is the perl installation
( I'm going to fix this also ).

My goal is to write a proxy ldap server
using the perl backend. This allows me to play around with a number of
caching options and concepts using my preferred language ( I like rapid
prototyping and the extended pattern matching capabilities of the Perl
language ).

I am wondering if anybody else is curious
about that.  Therefore should anybody be interested in this subject
or does need more information please feel free to contact me.
