Hello all,

Very simple question :
Is there an OS on which OpenLDAP is known to have better performances ?

Symas is currently engaged in doing benchmarks of its CDS product (based on OpenLDAP) on various OS's. So far, Linux strongly outperforms Solaris, and a benchmark of AIX is in the works. The results of the benchmarks will be making their way onto the Symas site (http://www.symas.com) in the near future.

Comparison results between CDS and other directory servers (Netscape DS in
particular) are also in the works.

In all cases, properly configuring the software and using hardware that is adequate to your needs is of utmost importance.
