make test error

I am getting the following error when I run "make test" with
openldap-2.2.13:

>>>>> Starting test002-populate ...
running defines.sh
Starting slapd on TCP/IP port 9011...
Using ldapsearch to check that slapd is running...
Waiting 5 seconds for slapd to start...
Using ldapadd to populate the database...
ldapadd failed (1)!
>>>>> ./scripts/test002-populate failed (exit 1)
make[2]: *** [bdb-yes] Error 1

make[1]: *** [test] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory
`/usr/local/src/070804-install/openldap-2.2.13/tests'
make: *** [test] Error 2

All previous tests complete OK.

The system is Slackware 9.1 with 2.4.26 kernel, I compiled openldap with
these options:

./configure --enable-spasswd --disable-cleartext --enable-wrappers
--sysconfdir=/etc
make depend
make
make test

I also installed the following dependencies (prior to openldap):

db-4.2.52.NC - applied patches patch.4.2.52.1 & patch.4.2.52.2
cyrus-sasl-2.1.18

Any help, or insight, would be appreciated.
