This implies a problem with your TLS configuration of
the client or the server.  I suggest you attempt to
duplicate the problem using tools provided by OpenLDAP,
such as ldapsearch(1), so as avoid off-topic issues
such as samba configuration.  You also should ensure
that your TLS environment is sane through testing with
openssl's s_client and s_server codes.
