I am not sure if you are aware but there is a test suite called
Directory Mark and can be accessed at

http://www.mindcraft.com/directorymark/overview.html 

another free bee to test LDAP. has different versions ranging from Solaris,
winnt to 2k and 2k3..

Hi!

I'am using Apache JMeter to test how scalable OpenLDAP is. It has 
integrated LDAP test methods.
With this tool you can really generate a lot of traffic.
