Replication to subordinate bdbs

Hello,
I have a configuration with one the DIT split across four bdbs. When I try 
to replicate these to a single replica I get multiple requests for a single 
operation. The replica in turn throws errors especially for adds.
Am I missing something in the configuration? Any help will be appreciated.
