No, since all this is happening within the current shell.

Quotes *are* needed when incorporating several concurrent "lookups" on
one line, so *always* *use* *quotes*. E.g., my actual CPPFLAGS is:
CPPFLAGS="-I/usr/local/ssl/include/openssl -I/usr/local/include
-I/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.2/include"

People will say that not all of these lookups are necessary, but what
the hell. WHATIS_LIFE="Life is just a bowl of Cherries";echo
$WHATIS_LIFE .
