slapd for testing

hello
i'm testing a ldap driver for a software.
is it possible to run a non-suid slapd in localhost just for testing, 
and have on the same host, an slapd running in background.

if someone else want to run the regression tests of my software, i don't 
want them to use the current slapd of the host. I want to run another 
slapd with empty data, and use it.
