Wrong. PAM doesn't know or care what hash is used by LDAP. It performs an
LDAP Bind, and the LDAP server does whatever it needs to do to validate the
Bind.

This sounds like pam.conf has not been set up correctly. This topic belongs
on some other mailing list, like pamldap@padl.com.
