Strange ldap system

Hi everybody this is my first mail to this mailing list. I am a italian student
and I'm a newbie about LDAP.

I want to made up a "database" (sorry for the non correct term) with entry like
this:

username   <text>
date          <date>
file_xml      <xml data>
file_binary  <binary file>
file_xml      <xml data>
file_binary  <binary file>
....

Do I have to create a personal schema? some guidelines?
Do files are save inside ldap?
