monitoring slapd

Hey,

 

I want to monitor slapd with daemontools (http://cr.yp.to/daemontools.html)

Due to the way daemontools works, it can’t be done monitoring slapd since slapd goes to the background automatically,

 

Is there a way to make slapd run in the foreground?
