dn.base vs dn.exact in 2.1.22 (in ACL)

In my version of slapd.access(5)
which I read with 'man slapd.access'
I find that:
" For all other qualifiers, the pattern is a string representation of the 
entry's DN.  base or exact (an alias of base) indicates the entry whose DN is 
equal to the pattern. "

However, when I have an ACL like this:

access to dn.exact="dc=example,dc=com"
	by * none

I am getting an error like this:

	unknown dn style "exact" in to clause

When I change 'exact' to 'base' everything works.
