Mailing List Annc: Higher Educational LDAP Deoployment

I've created a mailing list specifically chartered for the
deployment of LDAP with in the Higher Educational Environment.
Higher Ed. faces unique challenges and business requirements
in directory deployment which are very different from those
of corporations and governmental organizations.

I expect the list to function as a peer support group for
directory administrators working in higher ed. Discussions
will likely cover everything from performance tuning of
openLDAP to schema establishment, from Kerberos integration
to organization of departments and students with in the
directory, and even the drafting of policy.

The list charter does not specifically limit it to openLDAP,
but I expect that that is what many of the list members will
be running.

I am personally working on directory deployment at a public
university of about 40K students, and will be happy to share
the experience, knowledge, and programs (under the GPL) that
I have developed on the list.

Hopefully, this list will serve as a valuable resource for
those working working in higher ed, while relieving some
of the support request traffic on the openLDAP list.  It
would be nice to see Howard have more time to improve an
already great program.

The list is open and publically archived.  All are welcome
to join.  Please, come and help build a community to make
this difficult task easier for all of us.
