It should, unless the attribute's syntax does not allow '_'.  E.g. if it
has syntax 1.3.6.1.4.1.1466.115.121.1.44 (Printable String), which
only allows the characters a-z A-Z 0-9 ' ( ) + , - . = / : ? SPACE.
