Alias support was in back-ldbm but it never got past "experimental" status. It is in fact rather broken. It is unimplemented in back-bdb.

I am trying to use aliases in openldap 2.1.13 with bdb 4.1.25

However i receive the following error:

 

"aliasedObjectName" not supported in context

 

Also the ldap.openldap.org server does seem to support aliases see

uid=kdz,ou=People...
