Before run the configure script, try this:

$ CPPFLAGS="-I/usr/local/BerkekeyDB.4.1/include" ; export CPPFLAGS
$ LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/BerkekeyDB.4.1/lib" ; export LDFLAGS

And now:

$./configure
