OpenLDAP 2.1 and updatedn

hi,
while trying to add entry to an OpenLDAP server with ver 2.1.x, I've faced
the error:

no structural ObjectClass operational attribute

when removing the updatedn in the slapd.conf all works well.
i need the updatedn since the machine is part of a master - slave
architecture.

to go around it i placed a "schemacheck" directive  with the value "off"
the thing is that i need the schemacheck on, in order to check my schema

it did not happen in the 2.0.x version of OpenLDAP.

I'm also using the core.schema provided with the server and my own custom
schema, build with our OID
