Compiling 2.1.8 on debian-sid

Has anyone succeeded in compiling openldap 2.1.8 on Debian-sid (x86)?

I've mucked around a bit, trying to get it to work but I've been unable to get
it to compile. The error I'm running into is:

daemon.o(.text+0xcb2): In function `slap_open_listener':
/home/mort/src/cupe/openldap-2.1.8/servers/slapd/daemon.c:691: `sys_errlist' is

Any words of wisdom?
