After reading the thread started by Lee Hoffman(Subject: SSL/TLS Ughh)
i got it working.

A bit off-topic: I still have the same problem on Mac OS X. Does
anyone know where I should put the server-certificate? slapd reports
the "error in SSLv3 read client certificate A" when trying to
authenticate. Without SSL everything works perfectly.
