definitely not a bug!

please make sure you 're adding a properly coded UTF-8 Unicode text LDIF file!

the attached file is not properly encoded, it is in ISO-8859-1 coding format

may be you could try with GNU iconv tool:

$ iconv  huego_mueller.utf8  -f   ISO-8859-1   -t   UTF-8   -o
huego_mueller.ldif

I've tried that and it worked out perfectly.
