ldap v3

Can anyone point me to a good, as basic as possible directive (if it exists)
for getting Openldap v 2.0.18, OpenSSL, Kerberos Heimdal & SASL working
together.  Also what supporting software I need.  Some sites don't mention
anything about supporting software when installing ldapv3, but some sites
when talking about installing MIT Kerberos mention support software, some of
which I have downloaded and installed, but with errors.  Also do I need to
upgrade to Openldap 2.0.23.
