If anyone's interested,

I'm working on a LDAP perl extension specific to OpenLDAP derived from PerLDAP ( http://www.perldap.org ) with permission. The goal is to more closely export the OpenLDAP library functions, hence providing more functionality to perl scripts. The project is at http://ldapperl.sourceforge.net/ .
