Problems with Outlook Express acessing the ldap server

I finally managed to install Open LDAP (slapd ver 2.0.11-Release)

I can query the LDAP server ok with Outlook Express, but if I use an
asterisk (*) the query returns no matches.  I have worked with another LDAP
server (FTGate) and it did return all of the matches with the asterisk, so I
guess that it is matter of configuration.  Any one have any ideas ? Thanks,
