I've been asked to write something on Win2k that uses a unix LDAP service to authenticate users (HP-UX). I built OpenLDAP (2.0.23) and there are no complaints during the whole process except when I come to 'make test'. It starts slapd on port 9009 and then tries a request then displays a message saying it is waiting for slapd to start. When I run netstat I can see the port open and listening and ps shows slapd running. If I ignore the fact that the tests fail and run make install, I can use ldapadd to add entries successfully but when I use ldapsearch to query the entries it reports that there isn't anything there.

 

Can anybody help me or give me some pointers in the right direction? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
