max entry in a branch

Hi all,

Are there any limit for count of entries in a branch like ou-People,dc=domain.com in 
Openldap 2.0.23.

1-How using single branch instead of several affect Openldap perfomance for the same data 
while searching with "sub"
2-What is the relation between entry count and perfomance in a single branch in openldap.
