Replication while slave is down

Hi,

I have configured 2 LDAP servers

ldap1 (Master)
ldap2 (Slave)

I've configured ldap1 to replicate entries to ldap2 and it's working fine.

But what happens if ldap2 goes down?
Will ldap1 continue replicating (offline) and send all replicas to ldap2
when it became available?
Should an operator force the replica of all data when ldap2 become
available?

I've read the Administrator's Guide but I don't understand this point.

Thanks,
